Life is Beautiful

random travels and thoughts
leaving my footsteps in every corner of the world :)

still one of the best short video I’ve ever watched.

“Every man has to be judged based on the content of their character, not their association.”

Sometimes I am so amazed at how two different people from two very different culture can become very good friends. Both of us came from each end of the world, we met in the middle and ever since then it has always been the two of us. I have only a few amazing friends in my life that I kept in contact with and I hope T will be one of them.

With all my heart….

But when u think about it. That is all guys do, they feed us all their bullshit. U don’t believe it anymore since everyone does it and u can’t tell who is true or not so when u find someone u like, u get insecure whether he likes u or not because I’ve heard it all. Do u get what I mean?

—My best friend in Dubai just sent me this text. Ditto is the word. I guess we all have to always keep an open heart no matter how many times I have been disappointed.

I don’t want to recover partially from a major illness and all that people will remember me by is the aftermath of my illness.

I miss being daddy’s girl but life goes on.

This was my most epic night in Petra. (at Petra)

Sunny with a cool breeze

Location: Sheraton Club Des Pins, Algeria

This beautiful hotel has its own private beach. Polluted private beach. There are viewing seats in front of the Mediterranean Sea, away from the dirty beach so I am taking in the breeze. After having been to Malta and Lebanon, and seeing pictures of Tunisia, I hereby conclude that any country near the Mediterranean Sea has got a similar trait. Overly friendly people, which is a good thing, and small windy roads (which is similar to Paris considering this used to be a French colony). Of course, not forgetting, beautiful Mediterranean.

Yesterday I fought tiredness and went out for sightseeing with three other girls. Algeria is not used to tourism and women walking around the street without men. Four of us females walked around (dressed conservatively) the war monument and got stared at by every men who were just chilling. Apparently, on a Friday, women stay home to clean the house so seeing females on the street was a rare sight. In fact, the policeman came and started following us because he realized a few guys were starting to walk behind us. Very nice of you, Mr Policeman. He walked with us and shooed of any guys who were following, until we were back to our driver.

That was quite an experience…..

We were brought to two other important landmarks like the Grande Poste and Notre Dame d’Afrique (told you, French colony). At this time, we were used to being stared at even just driving past in the car, on the streets, basically everywhere. The local adults were just sitting by these landmarks, playing games, chatting, smoking.. And the kids, playing football. One common activity all around the world, football.
There were NO tourists, except us. The awkwardness of us four snapping around with our devices……

The day ended with a hilarious dinner with our driver at La Madrague, overlooking the sea, against the sunset. And we drove back to the hotel with an Arabic song that will be loaded into my tracks soon. Talk about placing songs with memories :)

One thing I must add, guys here are freaking good looking. They have the best mixture of European, Arabic and the Mediterranean vibe. Kids here are absolutely cute. I should find some good genes here for my future kid. (!!!)

in love with traveling

Recently I have been thinking of crazy adventures I can embark on after my contract is up here. I would really like to practice nursing in Australia but now that I have seen quite a bit of the world, my options are now greatly increased.

I am actually considering Saudi Arabia. Yes, No?

You will never believe how many failed friendships, relationships and dates I’ve had ever since working in the sky.
I was just looking through whatsapp conversations and felt a tinge of loneliness. Most of these people I really adore. But we never manage to meet much because on average, we spend only 8 days in base.

It’s difficult to maintain a relationship and I really treasure my closest friend here.

The loneliness problem seems rather juvenile now.

The deal with being famous Part 3

Will anyone believe me if I said I was out with Saddam Hussein’s grandson last night? Don’t take my words for credibility.

Oh, and one of the best basketball player in US of A.

It’s up to your imagination, or mine!

Dubai is pretty insane.

Food diary: Natto

image

My first city in Japan was Osaka and I had the honor to have a local friend with me for a day. My breakfast was a typical Japanese style breakfast and it includes this soy fermented goodness, Natto. Well… she talked me into eating it. And of course I did and finished the whole box.

So, I opened the seal and a pungent smell emerged from the tiny bomb. Man, what was that? It wasn’t too bad but my Japanese friend was so concerned and kept asking for my opinion. I was told to stir vigorously till the Natto turns gluey and sticky.. with web like sticky goodness clinging onto every fermented soybeans that was in there. Unfortunately, no pictures taken at this time because I was just amazed at this new food that I was about to try.

I finished the whole serving. It would not be one of my favourite food but for the health benefits that I was told, eat it again, I will!!

Off to Osaka again tomorrow and definitely having Natto breakfast again. Cheers to Health! (with my Natto box high up)
